Dog Workshops
1) "Dog Training" - Sep 19 & 20, Oct 3 & 4, Nov 28 & 29
Find out why your dog can become fearful of people or constantly bark. Find out how to understand and connect emotionally with your beloved pet better. Taylor Gadsby and Kameron Cuk, CETs trained by and affiliated with Brad Pattison, host of Slice Network’s TV show At The End of My Leash will be conducting this two-day training workshop.
Each morning will start with a 1 to 1.5 hour six-legs-to-fitness class, followed by a 2 hour street safety training class each afternoon. The training classes have been fine tuned to show pet owners how to build a true bond with their dogs without the use of treats, pinch collars, or other negotiation tools. Issues such as pulling on the leash, jumping up, patience training, urban agility will be covered. The classes are lots of fun and dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments are welcome.
The price for all the training classes is $150 per dog. (This would be the cost for just one private lesson.) All dogs must have a Martingale-style collar and a 6 foot long leash – both are available through Taylor or Kameron at the workshop. Class size is limited to a maximum of 15 dogs. Call David to reserve a spot. If wish to stay in a room at Woodhaven, a two-night stay starts at $382 including meals and taxes.
2) "Learn the Language of Animals” - Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27/09
Communicating with animals is a natural gift that everyone has the ability to learn. Join us at Woodhaven to hear more about what animal communication is, how it can help you to have a deeper connection with your pet, and how it will give you an awareness of their needs and feelings. It will allow you to understand medical and animal distress issues better, and assist you in solving and handling behavioural problems (barking, fear, aggression at the door or to strangers). This workshop is being led by Ingrid Brammer of The Oasis Farm
Cost: $90 for a three hour session on both Saturday and Sunday. Limit is 10/class. (Regular weekend rates apply for accommodation and meals at Woodhaven.)
Art Classes with David Hickey
Well known Canadian artist, David Hickey, is back for another season of painting lessons with water colour and acrylics.
The Fall Colours Weekends are $90/person (max 6/class) from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Classes are on Saturdays September 12, 26, October 17 and 24.
